- Town approves $3.6 million renovation for the high school, which begins in May with the construction of two tennis courts, a quarter mile track, re-construction of baseball and softball diamonds on Turco "lower field", and construction of new soccer field on top of "Killer Hill" (current home location of field hockey)
- Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School opens in Norfolk
- Old Stone School (location of current Walpole Public Library) is closed permanently for classroom education
